Grant is 1!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANT!

Grant turned one on September 24, 2014. I can't believe he's been with us for a year! Grant has brought so much joy growth into our lives.

We didn't do anything on the day of his birthday, because Tyler had rehearsal. We let him open a present every day the week of his birthday (thank you Grandma and Grandpa for providing presents that lasted the entire week!) We then made cupcakes, which we never ate, haha. We kept trying to save them for a time that we were all home together and Grant was awake and happy. Since Tyler was gone until 11 every night, it just never happened. That's ok!

A little bit about Grant:

• He is a total boy. He loves balls, cars, tools (he goes for the hammer every time he sees it), and being thrown in the air 

• His recent thing is stuffing food in his mouth and then sticking out his tongue and letting the food drop out. It's hilarious, but we are now trying not to laugh and encourage him

• He thinks he's a preschooler. He does what they do, including raising his hand to get attention

• He thinks it's really funny when we touch pointer fingers and I say, "E.T. Phone home." We probably do this about 14 times a day

• He can walk, but thinks it's so much easier to crawl or to walk while holding onto my fingers. He often will come over to me and pull on my hands until I stand up and walk with him. 

• He has learned how to throw fits. He will arch his back as far as he can when something is happening that he doesn't want. Usually all this gets him is being laid down in the ground, which he hates even more (you try holding him like that!) 

• He loves to color. He will grab crayons in both hands and go for it. Although, if I'm coloring too, he'll usually sit on the picture instead to make me stop.

• He loves to dance to music! Every time music comes on that he likes, he will rock back and forth. We love it!

Grant has brought so much joy into our lives. We love the stage he is at right now and are so excited for the stages to come!
