September Happiness

Tyler and I were feeling like we didn't do all that much in September. Then we looked through our pictures. I'm so glad we have them as a reminder! It was a great month!

Most importantly, Grant turned 1! I can't believe it's been an entire year, but then I also can't believe that it's only been a year. I'm sure some of you know how I feel. This is him on his birthday. We got him some cars that make noise when you shake them and then move on their own. He LOVED it :) (I was patting myself on the back). Tyler had rehearsal on Grant's birthday, so we truly celebrated later. However, I took him to the park, which he always really enjoys.

Grant at age 1:
Favorite food - grapes
Favorite thing to do - walk around with mom, swing, splash in water, ride in the stroller
Favorite item - his blanket
Favorite books - his ABC family book (we gave to him on his birthday, has a picture of all of his family members)

I began working at a local preschool this month. I go on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The lady who runs it has a lot going on, so usually it's just me teaching. I love being able to use my education! I am allowed to bring Grant. He loves playing with all of the older kids!

Grant smashed a banana in his eye and got an infection from it. You can see here how swollen his eye got. Not really a thing that made us happy, but I thought I would include it. He laughed each time I reached in and got some banana and puss out of his eye. Silly kid.

We got together as older siblings (and additional family and friends) on Labor day to carve watermelons! We were pretty impressed with ourselves! On the left is a diamond, then a turtle, a head, a helmet (on the head), and a baby crib!

Grant has started just playing in his crib. We'll go in to take him out after a nap and he won't come. He just wants to play and play :) I love this stage!

We invited some friends for games, but it turned out they were already scheduled to have a bon fire with some other friends. Thank you to Anna and Bradley for having us along! We had a great time! Don't ask about the legs...

We had a ward campout. We didn't stay for the camping out part (because Tyler had a call-back for Savior of the World, not because we chickened out) but dinner, playing games, and the devotional was great! We love our new ward. It is a very involved ward that is welcoming and easy to feel a part of.
We went to Chalk the Block and the Riverwoods. This is where chalk artists from around the county will come and create a Chalk Drawing in a parking space. It's a ton of fun. Tyler's favorite part may have been the corn dogs we got there.

Tyler's younger brother, Gideon, passed away this last February from heart problems. He was an organ donor. Utah created a memorial for all of the organ donors each year. We went as a family to visit it.

Tyler went on a campout with Pierce and his cousin, Davey. They just drove up in the mountains and found a place. Then they went exploring and found an awesome cabin!

Ressa and Jason blessed their son, Charlie! We were lucky to be a part of it. He's a special little boy!

Pierce got set apart as a Priest and Scott as a Teacher on the day of Charlie's blessing. It was a great day all around.

Tyler's Uncle David has a boat and invited the family for one last boat run of the season. Since we've already had some boat pictures on our happiness board, we decided to include other activities that were going on. This was Davey's first successful kite flying experience! Well, successful until Wyatt decided to help :)

See what I mean? We really had a great month! Thank you to everyone who made it possible! Life is good!

Grant can walk! (barely)

Grant took his first steps 4 days before his birthday. Tyler wasn't there, but I was able to get a video!

Since then he has taken several more steps. I thought he would be full on walking by now, but he has decided that crawling is easier. That's totally fine, I can wait
